another unicyclist on TV--How 'Bout That?

At this very moment (Sat AM) there’s a New York recycling advocate being
featured on the educational kid’s show ‘How Bout That?’ He wears strange suits
made of aluminum cans or various other things and rides around on his unicycles.
They showed him both on a giraffe and on a non-giraffe.

His name is Gene Pool (probably not his real name). I’ve got a newspaper
clipping of him (10 years old or more) showing him riding a unicycle in his
“aluminum can suit”. I also have a poster from a Bike to Work Week promotion by
NY-based Transportation Alternatives from a few years ago. It shows a photograph
of a guy riding a Miyata unicycle, naked (tastefully done), and says something
like “Ride a bike to work and feel the wind in your hair (not to mention a few
other places).” At the bottom of the poster it says “model: Gene Pool”.

Pretty cool. I don’t know if I’ve ever met him, but he seems to pop up on a
unicycle frequently, whether or not he’s wearing anything else…
