Another 29r question

I am contemplating building a 29 wheel set to fit in my 26x3 gb4 frame. There is enough room for a 2.3. My intention is to use it for commuting 3 miles to and from work each day, but i know myself well. More than likely i will ride it down steps and generally beat the crap out of it like i do my munis. I was considering the KH 29 rim and a udc hub with a big apple tire. If i went this route what crank arms would you recomend- length and make. The riding i intend to do is all flat land or downhill/xc. Should i buck up and go for a splined hub or just try to take it easy on a cotterless setup? Any suggestions on this setup or others would be much appreciated.

if you go with 127mm tapered cranks, you wont want go down stairs and even if you do…the chance of bending them or rounding the hub is small…

to quell the demon, offer no option.

be prepared to shell out about $35 to 50 bucks getting that 29er rim to your house…its the same to order 3 or 4 of them as it just one since it ships oversized…

i ordered two so i could split the shipping with someone else that wanted one.

That was, I believe, the most off-question post I have ever seen.

I am interested in the same things, too. So thanx for asking the question.
