You guys seemed to like when i posted an animation of mine so i figure heck - i’ll post a screenshot of my upcoming one.
so here it is:
yea i know. im removing the tombstone. its just too bad there.
there is lots to be done, such as blending the shades on the ground and the mountain, but otherwise, its turning out great. im going for a cartoony, yet realistic animation. it looks pretty good to me.
maybe simple, but not easy. smoothness is key in animations. and its extremely hard to pull off. post an animation of yours on imageshack when you get the chance ;D
Well I’m also used to working with 3d animating, rigging and inverse kinematics and skinning. Just rudimentary stuff, never have managed to pull off a fully rigged character, but I know the concepts.
I’ve also done a fair bit of flash animation, motion/shape tweening and such. Both 3d and 2d animating I’ve done is all keyframe stuff, except for some special 3d stuff such as softbodies and fluid simulations.
Is this pivot program much different than the flash animation operations?
pivot consists of frame by frame animating. its as if you were making a flash animation without the tweening. try to imagine yourself just making nothing but keyframes with flash, and redrawing each frame… thats what pivot is, but you dont have to re draw it.
Here’s the flash animation I made for my web design class final. I didn’t have time to go back and smooth the gradient on the tunnel or fix some other minor errors, there was a time constraint and it all had to be done in class. Not my best work, but it appears to be similar to what you’re making. Pretty simple job to do actually.
Not bad. And you’re right, animating in Flash for stuff like that is very easy, and with a little bit of ActionScript, one can easily make banners, website intros, etc.
The hardest part of Flash (for me) is just drawing good-looking stuff, like I doubt I could make a good looking car like in your video.
Yeah, we had a week for the animation, the car took me 2 1/2 days, which explains my lack of detail on the animation. It’s okay though because I got a 100% I was one of two people in the class to use tweens. We only did very basic stuff over flash in the class, but I taught myself.
