And he even has a bow tie named after him.

Ladies and gentlemen, may I present:

The Gilby

Nice, now I suddenly want one.

“The Gilby” is not “our Gilby”, our Gilby is more… or is it something less… He has this little… Nah, I miss my words, it’s something too subtle to point out…

…Don’t bother, I’m tired at the moment and my eyes ache. If GILD says it’s Gilby then it’s Gilby. Who am I to contradict him, anyway?

Thanks for the story, now I know where “cravate” comes from;).

I can’t see Gilby in a bowtie. Unless he’s riding a unicycle at the time. He’s more of a T-shirt guy to me. In fact I’m not sure if I’ve ever seen him wearing anything other than T-shirts or dressed up for performances.

Hey GIlby, do you remember who first started calling you that?

I has a bow tie!

Dax Flame?

I wore mine to my high school graduation :~)

Are those tie-ons or clip-ons?

I actually tied mine, but it can be removed without untying by means of a clip at the back of the neck.

Nah, that clip should only be used to adjust the length of the bow tie.
One side is likely to have another little T-clip that slips into slits cut into the fabric, allowing you to adjust the length.
One of the main reasons for wearing a bow tie in the first place is being able to do this:

lol Nice. So you mean that bow ties are not one piece of material? (Wow, I should really read up on some things…)

Not unless you have monogrammed ones handmade for you.
They have to be able to adjust for length so the one half is made to loop, adjustably, back on itself and the other side is made with a fixed loop and the connecting clip is fitted into those two loops.

Ever since learning to tie a bow tie I have become SUCH a snob.

I normally only wear it to black tie functions where I work as MC.
Once I’ve finished working for the evening I just love untying my tie and ‘lording’ it over the plebs with the clip-ons.

I can be SUCH an idiot, and that without even trying.
