What an embarrassment. Good thing our family is moving…wait, we’re moving within Illinois. Maybe there’s time to redirect.

It is an embarrassment to Illinois. Didn’t he promise to end corruption in government? What a two faced *******. Hang him and put his head on a pike in front of the (vacant) governor’s mansion to server as a warning to future governors.

Not to be overly serious, but taking bribes from real estate developers, railing against prostitution while sleeping with a prostitute, railing against gays while being one and meeting others in men’s rooms, and taking kickbacks for government contracts is all run of the mill corruption.
Trying to sell a seat in the United States Senate is something else. More brazen and much more utterly contemptuous of the constitutional system we all hold to be the bedrock of whatever freedoms we enjoy.
So, yeah, it is a little surprising.
Apparently the FBI was investigating him for 3 years or something? So they wouldn’t have gone public with this unless they were sure they had a case against him. Now he’s innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, I guess…
Ironic and sad thing is, most of that is 100% accurate!
