This song is still a work in progress…but it needs a title. If anything comes to mind, suggest a title in this thread or in the comment box.
What do you guys think?
Thanks

If I could suggest a title, I would suggest “The heart of a River” or something like that. In my mind, it resembles both a heart and a river, the way it is constantly changing. It is fast, then slow, then fast, then slow, then really slow, then fast… You get the point…
Just what it sounds like to me… Sounds like an indian like song, but if I could, that would be on my Ipod. Great stuff.
Thanks a lot man! I actually really like that title.
I’ll be sure to let the community know when I record my album. Probably this summer.
“Aggitated Ambiance” comes to mind.
Nice job! Very creative.
That was awesome, had a rugged beauty. I second what beeper said because I agree with what he said and am feeling sort of unimaginative right now.
Beautifully done
Astringent
Reminds me of Sea Breeze on a cotton ball…nice and soft and aromatic at first, then sharp and biting.
Nice stuff. The percussive elements remind me of my favorite guitarist, Joe Myers.
Thanks for all the comments, I really appreciate them.
So far I think “The Heart of the River” is most fitting though.
Sorry for the low quality recording, i used my laptop mic.
I visited my highschool over thanksgiving break and got suprisingly good reactions from the students and faculty when I played a few of my originals…makes me wonder if I’m wasting my time in a business program
I’d recommend losing the first “The” since you already have the word later in the title.
You’re not. Even if you decided to pursue a career in music, having a solid foundation in business will help you, both in learning to promote yourself, and in how to manage the finance side. The world is full of amazing musicians who toil away their lives in hand-to-mouth obscurity.
Okay, that works. “Heart of the River”
Yeah, I am all too aware of this. I’ve ALWAYS wanted to pursue a career in music, but I’ve always been to afraid to take the risk. Regardless of what I do, it’ll be a part of my life.
Wow! I can’t think of a title, but your playing is insane! It’s amazing the way you use delay and guitar-thumps to create that percussion effect, it sounds like a guitarist with a drummer duet…
Incredible!
“Gently Fading”
I love your music man, i just listened to all you other stuff.
Mad Props.
Chase
wow, your really good…not my style of music but stilll amazing, you should look up (youv proabably already heard him) eric mongrain on youtube, kinda the same style…but that was sweet
Can’t think of a good title. Often though, whatever title you give to a song it will begin to fit over time.
But hey, I like your playing technique. The way you combine somewhat “sparse” guitar with all those percussive elements… may have been done before but it’s a first for me to see/hear. Good stuff.
Call it “This song has no title”
He beat me to it…you’d probably like him, Jason.
That was really good…I like the “Heart of the River” title. Let us know when you get a full album thing recorded.
Thanks a lot guys!
Yeah I listen to Erik Mongrain. He’s definitely on my list of influences, along with Andy Mckee and a few other guitarist on the Candyrat Record label. I’ve kind of found a style of my own though. Erik Mongrain has a somewhat classical style to his playing, and Andy Mckee is a primarily fingerstyle guitarist. I’d usually categorize my music as acoustic/experimental/rock.
I’ll definitely let you guys know when I record an album. I currently have 5 or 6 completed songs. I’m going at a rather slow pace though, trying to perfect them. I’ve been writing for about a year haha.
