Haha, yeah, I don’t usually watch American Idol, but the auditions are always entertaining. It’s amazing what people will do and what they’ll believe about their own abilities for a chance to be on TV.

HA those people a hilarious they’ll be crying if they don’t get in but if the camra guy asks what they feel they say they don’t care and they just went in for fun. yeah, sure, that must be something huge stuck in your eye to make you cry like that:p

yup i have seen that one before. That is so funny! it makes it even funnier when you see the judges lauphing and hiding behind there papers and stuff.

Some of those first-round auditions are mentally ill. These are the ones that just don’t seem to have a grasp on reality. They are not necessarily the ones that clearly can’t hold a note, and yet think they’re great singers. Most of those people are just trying to do what’s necessary to get on the show. You only get on the show if the producers find your performance (or costume, or attitude, or antics) interesting enough.
Some of the auditions are good, but not yet ready for the pressure-cooker of the full contest. They might be able to come back for future auditions.
And probably most of the ones who make it into the top 20 are already professional singers to one degree or another. You can’t just sing good, you have to be a performer, and able to try all sorts of new things, to learn new songs pretty fast, and also to be able to take constructive criticism. So many good singers lose because they can’t learn the words of a short song in a whole day…
My wife likes the auditions. I heard them in the background while I was doing this last night.
I’d be willing bet good money that many of the WORST, WEIRD and seemingly “Mentally unstable” auditioners are planted…or at least purposely handpicked, SPECIFICALLY for the entertainment value.They are just flat-out hilarious to watch, and yes, laugh AT! Besides, after a while, ALL the “good” singers start to sound alike, especially the one’s (MOST!) who incessantly BEND the notes all over the road! JUST PICK A NOTE AND STAY THERE!!!

I think it’s pretty lame…
I like watching the auditions but once the actual contest part starts then its not as good.
I dunno, last year’s was good…Bo kept me watching.
