Alternative Uni-Related exercises?

I don’t always get to ride during the day, and then sometimes my free time ends up being at night. I have recently been doing some riding around the block at night, but it gets old quick, and I have no one that is willing to do real rides with me at night.

So I was wondering if you guys had some ideas for alternative indoor exercises that can help me beef up or lose fat for uni riding?

I usually do some push-ups, sit-ups, squats, and leg lifts before I sleep. I think I do it more to help me sleep and stretch my muscles. Any other ideas?

Get an mp3 player/iPod. I can just chill for hours riding and listening to music alone, it’s really relaxing too. Well I guess depending on what you’re listening to, I usually listen to Lil B. :stuck_out_tongue:

In the dark? Ipod is broken by the way, when it synchs with itunes it crashes my computer AH!

hey man, If you want to try a fun and challanging indoor sport you should look into indoboarding. It is stationary, and you can continue to learn new tricks and challange yourself. you can check it out on youtube…

btw, mine is homemade and works great. all you need is a piece of plywood and a segment of pvc pipe.

I just picked up a “ball and ring” board much like an indo board. so much fun and great for 360 degree balance. there’s a few brands out there. I grabbed a si-boards “powder.” I ride mine when I’m on the phone at work.

I bought a elliptical exercise machine this winter to stay in shape. It’s collecting dust since I’d rather go out in the cold and unicycle.

Yeah, at night, I just find somewhere with a streetlight/lighted parking lot or on my patio.

I live on top of a mountain, what’s a street light? :stuck_out_tongue:

I completely forgot about those indo boards, I used to play with them at the skateshop as a kid when I waited for board repairs.

I find the best exercise is pull ups!

If you gain a few pounds, it’s much harder to do the pull up.

You can get the pull up bars that fit into your doorway at Modell’s cheap.

I use this when i am not unicycling to get the energy and muscles in my legs moving.

haha I meant alternatives like burpees and such, that don’t require the purchase of other items
