alpine Mexico uni pictures

Hi All,

FYI here are a few pictures from a recent trip to Mexico with Nathan
Hoover, on the approach and summit of a volcano called El Pico de Orizaba
(18,500’).

Fantastic photos Kris!

Wouldn’t it be great if someone like Kris, or John Foss, or a group of
people, put together a collection of a dozen fantastic unicycle photos and
came out with a calender for 2002?

Dustin Kelm mentioned this too. Maybe John Drummond could make a 2002
unicycle.com calendar?

Great idea. But it would have to be called, “Dont Try This at Home.”

Great pix, X.

I think it’s a cool idea. The market’s pretty small, so I would consider
it more of a hobby project than a money maker.

Somebody actually made me one of these after one of the MUni Weekends. I’m
embarassed to say I can’t remember who it was now, but it was somebody at
the '98 weekened. They did one of those Kinko’s jobs with the color
xeroxed photos, and it was a great gift.

Something a little higher quality, such as photos printed from a quality
ink jet or laser printer, might be a good seller on Unicycle.com. I’d be
happy to contribute pictures to such a venture, for a possible small
percentage of profit (if any). Anybody want to do the assembly work?

I like the calendar idea.

A set of some choice high-res pics formatted for computer wallpaper would
be cool too.

All,

I like Dustin / Kris / Rick Bissel’s proposal. It is sensible, and short!

As an Ex-IUF Director, and an about to be “NR” for one or more IUF
countries, I “VOTE”

YES

on Rick / Dustin’s “Proposal.”

Perhaps a deck of playing cards too using the same photos? (etc. etc)

P.S. All the best to you Dustin … wherever you are!

A couple years ago, I was going to make a 2000 Calendar for Unicycle
Source to sell, but that fell through as the cost to produce it would be
really high at such low quantities when printing a 4 color process (needed
for photos) 28 page calendar. Other printing alternatives are to do duo
tone printing, which would be a greyscale image with one other color on
the photos to highlight it, to go with greyscale, or go with a cheaper
lesser quality printing method. Things have changed in the last couple
years, so there may be some better quality laser printers that can print
them with a decent quality.

If there is enough demand, I’d be willing to assemble it and get
them printed.

Sounds like a call for those who’d buy one to speak up - count me in.

Cheers, Neil
