Ain't it always the way....

I got a nice new 19" CRT (was using 15") and a comfy new office chair
for my home system on Friday.
Hard drive crashed last night.
Now I can watch a 19" blank screen in absolute comfort.

Oh, and I bought 512M of new RAM Friday as well, so I can see lots of
blank screen at once.

LOL… sorry… nasty isn’t it? I thought my cd burner wasn’t working
right so I went out and bought a new one… turns out that it was all
because I’d turns on “Classic View” in windows explorer on XP :stuck_out_tongue:

Re: Ain’t it always the way…

So I got the hard drive working again. Had a bad sector right in the
middle of system.dat (critical windows file). Luckily, the registry checker
on the W98 boot floppy was able to repair it, and the system started right
back up. After backing up all my user files, I took the opportunity to
upgrade to XP from W98, so I’m now officially in the 21st century.
Well, my computer is at least.
