Adding weight to a wheel

I am definitely not sure at all that I’ll be able to put the tire on with so much tape in the rim. According to the specs on Amazon, the tape has a thickness of 0.025 inches and I am intending to apply 2 1/2 layers, with the first two layers consisting of two side-by-side strips and the top layer consisting of just one strip positioned in the middle. If the first two layers can fit in the middle of the rim without creeping up the wall and the third layer is positioned in the middle where it won’t be a factor, then I think I’m looking at a reduction of about 0.050 inches (1.27mm) in the amount of space at the base of the inside of the rim along the edges. I am hoping that won’t mess things up. I guess the answer to my questions and the one you brought up is most likely: try it and see what happens.

I also have my Airfoil Coker with the wider hub and I could make that one my High Inertia 36er if the Airfoil rim is more conducive to adding the lead tape than the Nimbus Dominator2 rim. I assumed that because of the shape of the Airfoil rim, it wouldn’t be as good of a choice as the Dominator2 rim for adding the tape, but if anyone thinks this assumption is wrong, please let me know. Thanks!

You could just buy a Kris Holm Heavy Weight Training Unicycle

I like the rim option: Optional: rim weight kit that includes 36 lead plugs that screw into drilled out circular holes.
