Activities for first unicycling meet

Hi all,

I’m looking for suggestions for uni activities for what I hope will be the
inaugural meeting of the Arizona Unicycle Club. I want to be sure the activity
includes all skill levels so that no one is left out. I figure that even
something simple will be enjoyed because of the fun of being with other
unicyclists.

I am also looking for some model club charters so I don’t have to invent one
from scratch. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Regards,

How about unicycle stick in the mud (aka touch tag, prisoner etc…) a competent
rider is IT and when the touch another rider that person gets off and stands
still, these standees can be "released by having two more ( or one more if your
short on numbers) touch them at the same time, these Three people are imune to
being tagged while they are remounting etc so long as they remain in touch
contact, so assisted mounts are normal.

When we’ve played it at the BUC the person who gets most worn out is the IT, so
do pick a competant rider for that role.

Other BUC fav games have been chain tag, blindfold races with one blindfolded,
one not, riding together holding hands. We tend to start the day with a warm
up session that people join in at the level they can, Basic skills workshops
are good to.

Total non riders could always join in in any game by hopping or something
equally daft ( so they can’t go quicker than a rider if you get my drift). In
any team event try and doctor the teams to include a spread of ability and don’t
leave newbies to be the last picked.

Unicycle hockey can be a good wy to improve riding skill with out noticeing it,
the stick can be used to help mount and balence, as can the wall.

Above all, have fun. sarah

Thanks, Sarah! I really like the stick-in-the-mud game. Sounds like fun (and
quite a spectacle for passers-by).
