act as a server

when I have zone alarm running and I load NS6 it asks me if I want to let
NS act as a server. What is that and do I want to do it?

I bet it’s the smart update “feature”. It’s probably harmless, but as a
matter of general principle, I don’t let anything act as a server without
explicit permission.
