ACLU Pizza - It's Coming

Re: ACLU Pizza - It’s Coming

It will never happen. Businesses won’t piss off the people who pay their bills. Government will try, but the minute people find out one company is doing it, they will be boycotted off the planet.

Re: Re: ACLU Pizza - It’s Coming

Ah, the quote that has preceeded just about every major technology shift.

Human flight? It will never happen…

Flying solo across the ocean? It will never happen…

Flying to the moon and returning alive? It will never happen…

Cloning a human? It will never happen…

Maybe it won’t happen–soon–in someplace like the US, but I could see that kind of thing being a real “people management tool” for organizations like the government of China.

“Ordering another Pepperoni pizza? Your physician and your Chairman have advised you to watch your cholesterol. It is treasonous to undermine your worth to the nation. You will report to the Square tomorrow at 9am for public flogging.”

The ACLU is the biggest group of drama queens i’ve ever heard about.

Just pointing this out.

Re: Re: Re: ACLU Pizza - It’s Coming

spoken like someone else who hasn’t waded thru the finer points of the Patriot Act recently
at least u’re probably in the good company of your elected representative

fridges with the ability to connect to the internet and re-order, for home delivery, items u’re running low on will also be able to update your health-care provider of those orders that could be detrimental to your health
far from being a company that will ‘piss off the people who pay their bills…’ this will be a company able to keep ‘your’ contributions low because they can weed out and charge extra the people who are likely/about to place extra strain on the med-care provider

the spin to sell this will probably only be outspun by the spin that will get u to implant an ID chip in your child
and yourself

open your eyes and look around at the world u’ve chosen
it is a terrifying place and unless u get involved at whatever level of ‘politics’ is immediately accessible to u (and the lower rungs, the so-called ‘grass-roots’ are incredibly accessible), u wont really be able to do anything to stop it

just voting may no longer be enough

besides, if voting could change the system, it would be illegal

i’m going to go ride my unicycle into the sunset now
see u guys at the awareness bell-curve
we’ll be waiting a while

Thank you, Raphael, for always being at the ready to put someone I don’t agree with in his or her place!!

Give me a break. You look long enough you will always find companies that are trying to turn a buck selling info. Nothing in that Press Release by the company that wants to implement this type of information gathering ensures their success.

Do I think this sort of thing is trying to be perpetrated on the citizens of this country. Hell yea I do. Businesses try it, as well as government. If it gets to the point that it actually does happen, all of you that begged for gun control will be begging for guns. Oh and were you all excited about this when Hillary was planing the “Healthcare” plan for the United States 12 years ago?

What do you think will happen if the government has complete control over what healthcare you will be able to receive? What happens when they need to trim the budget? What happens when they decide fat people cost to much to provide healthcare for? Hillary actually had a section in her proposal that would make it illegal to pay for your own healthcare.

Why do people always want Big Brother to take care of them? Does it only matter which Big Brother you have? People are way to willing to give away power over their lives to the Government if they think the right people are in power. Guess what? The “right” people will never be in power as far as I am concerned. Especially if they are willing to control that much of my life. Sure equal/fair healthcare for everyone sounds like a good idea on the surface. Then you find out what you gave up to have Big Brother take care of you and it seems to be a little less grand.

bugman,

As I so often must, I ask, can you show us a newspaper article, the section of the proposal or some kind of documentary evidence or support of this?

Thanks,

Re: Re: ACLU Pizza - It’s Coming

I agree with Bugman on this one, but for different reasons. By the time we get that totalitarianism, we’re going to have a major cultural revolution or the U.S. will get destroyed. We’ve only been a world superpower for a hundred years or so, but at the rate we’re going, I don’t think we’ll make it another hundred.

I actually red it back in 93 or 94. It was part of a project/protest. I will look around and see if I can find it on the internet. If I can’t find a searchable version of it, don’t expect me to read the whole 1,300+ pages to find it. I doubt any newspaper reported it, if the did it probably isn’t going to be easy to find.

Besides, I figured it would go undisputed. Isn’t that like the liberal bible? It was written by Hillary Clinton for god’s sake. I am suprised you havn’t read and memorised the entire document. If you haven’t read it, you should. Nobody should be allowed to vote in this election w/o reading it. Do it for the children.

what this child-worship thing u got going on here?!?
people reach a certain age and go off your love-list?
either love people of all ages or, well, don’t
:stuck_out_tongue:

I am sure you realize the sarcasm in my statement, but just in case…

In the US the most common weapon of the left is children. How could anyone be against the children. Of course nobody is against the children, but if you disagree with anything they throw children into the equation to emotionalize the argument.

Gun Control…for the Children. HealthCare… for the Children. Whatever the argument, if it can’t stand on it’s own merits, inject the children into the argument and it is no longer important if the argument is valid. Another example… Michael Moore used this last night when being interviewed by Bill O’Reilly at the Democratic National Convention. He started asking Bill if he was willing to send his children to die in Iraq. Honestly, who is sending their children? Is 18 still a child or an adult? Who is actually making the children go? It is still an all volunteer military in the US last time I checked.

You could use the same argument for any hazardous job. Why pick on the military? What about Fireman, Police, etc… All dangerous jobs that could take the life of the person who chooses to do it. Are parents sending their children to do these jobs as well?

Do you realize how many children drown in swimming pools every year? Yet they are still legal…
Just food for thought.

Outlaw swimming pools for the children.

yeah, i did get the sarcasm
my disdain for people who propup dodgy arguments by buying into the child-worship sect is my one truly bipartisan attitude

personally i hate children
that’s why i’m so concerned about the direction the bush cabal seems to be heading on abortion
protect roe vs wade!!
do it for the children!!!

Then you’ve gotta love Kerry, who really wants to push partial birth abortion…

You say that as if it is a bad thing.

Uh oh! Hang on, everybody!!!

So from a purely Darwinian point of view, their argument has a major flaw. Here’s their argument from their home page:

“Phasing out the human race by voluntarily ceasing to breed will allow Earth’s biosphere to return to good health. Crowded conditions and resource shortages will improve as we become less dense.”

The problem is, we won’t become less dense; we’ll become more dense. Voluntarily ceasing to breed to improve the planetary condition is a purely intellectual argument. Therefore, it follows that only the smartest people will actually “get” the argument to the point they’ll internalize it, act on it, and limit or eliminate the number of offspring they have. Do we think that argument will have any effect on Backseat Betty…17 years old and in the 9th grade, IQ of 80…having a good time with her buddy Jethro and too dim to spell contraception much less think to buy it or use it? No, we don’t think that.

So what happens is the smartest people reproduce less, meaning the less smart people proportionally are reproducing more. Since there is absolutely no fooling genetics, what we have is a population that–over time–becomes increasingly dense.
