Hmmm…
Ben just finished studying about Rube Goldberg in school. He had to build a Rube Goldberg device. Sure was a lot of fun.
Bruce
Thats been out in the UK for a little while…
I love it
None of it was computer generated, and it took them AGES to get it to work.
Indeed… all in one take, too… the 650th-odd or something. That would have driven me bonkers!
Phil
awesome.
Hope we get it in australia.
Yes, Its been out here in the UK for a while now…
Its the best ad I’ve ever seen!
As the artical says; 'The Honda Accord campaign launched last week looks certain to become an advertising legend. ’
Joe,
http://www.honda.co.uk/brochure/orderCars.jsp?source=accord

Make sure you tick the boxes at the bottom to opt out of spam…
cool advert
that advert is stupidy amazing!
After studying the clip for awhile, I have my doubts as to its unaided computer authenticity.
Doubting Bruce
There is one second of computer animation in the video. The set wasn’t big enough to hold the entire contraption at once so it was split in half and the two halves were joined by computer. See the DailyRecord
There was a discussion on Slashdot about the ad.
Another news article about the ad was in the Telegraph
Yep, 1 second of the exhaust rolling is computer done, because the recording studio place was too small…
Ther rest is real, because things like the tires had lead weights in them…
I think it was 606 takes iirc…
Where do I send my resume? I want to get paid to do that!
is there a way the we in the states can get a DVD copy of that?
well try your honda sote… www.honda.com i spose…
or ask someone nicely to post a copy to you
Apparently the files on it are *.mov, so if you have a broadband connetion then I think they have been put on he net somewhere…
There are Quicktime versions of the commercial available. Here is what I found from a Google search on cog.mov
4.8MB Cog commercial
11.6MB Cog commercial
Go to the links and then search on the word “honda” to find the link to the movie.
More Rube Goldberg(ish) advertising. Give it time: http://producten.hema.nl/
Well that certainly is a fine mess he made!
Looks like the links for the original animation are dead. Google Video of ad.
