Accidental rolling mount

Greetings,

Yesterday while MUni-ing with my son, I did an accidental rolling freemount! He had just zipped off out of site so I started trotting with my Uni down the trail after him and then just leapt on to my saddle and rode after him (parental uneasiness). It was totally unplanned and worked great.

I started practicing rolling mounts after we left the trail and did quite a few. The difficult part is getting over the fear of leaping on to the pedal/saddle. I had two near backwards falls :astonished: where I hit the peddle too late and caught it at the top.

So now I can do the elusive ARM (Accidental Rolling Mount). I think I will be doing rolling mounts from now on because it’s a great way to take off.

Has anyone else had any accidental skills experiences?

Cheers,

Jason

I once had a similar rearward tumble after hitting the top of the pedal on a rolling mount. It was some time ago, but the problem was that I landed on my back in the street in front of my house just as a load of high schoolers was driving by in a Trans Am. I could almost hear them laughing at “that old man” as they turned the corner at the intersection.

Yes, Jason. I was practicing wheel walking last night and accidentally learned to abruptly lie flat on my back several times.
