It’s a bad thing. If you’re pregnant and you don’t want a baby, in most cases it could have been avoided. At least I haven’t heard about any abortion clinics being bombed lately, so you’re a little safer going to one.
Don’t think other people should be allowed to have abortions? Unless you’re the one that made them that way, you should probably stay out of it.

Not had one myself (being a bloke and all that), but the gf went to have one some years back. It ended up being a managed miscarriage because they did an ultrasound and found the little blighter didn’t have a heart beat.
I have never felt inclined to mourn my child that never was and nor has she.
People who don’t want children shouldn’t have children.

Just to stir it a bit: It seems to be an accepted view that religion (particularly Catholicism) carries a burden of guilt for everything, especially sex. With guilt comes punishment. Is that why they think everyone who has sex should be punished by getting pregnant (being heavily preggers is a pain in itself) and then years of parent-hood?
We need to get rid of abortion but that won’t happen be illegalizing it. When that happens, you get illegal “doctors” who use dangerous methods and intruments when performing abortions. Lots of women have died because of going to these people. We need to educate people more about sex and controceptives. We also need to promote adoption more and maybe even (if I dare sugest such a satanic notion) allow gays to adopt!!

Anyway, This all being said (by a boy), I think that girls should make the decision of wether abortion is right or wrong. Rather then boys, who won’t ever get an abortion.

moreover there is a contradiction between those extreme positions and empathy which is supposed to be promoted by christians.
when abortions were forbidden the dramas were heart-wrenchings … and now it seems that we are forgetting that. I feel particularly sad that things that needed a lot of courage to be permitted by law are now overturned and public opinion is surfing on a bigotry come-back.
what baffles me is that many of those same people think the pill or the use of condoms is a sin!!! There is even a social pressure that encourages virginity before marriage: I’ve seen those people on television and a freudian reading of their ceremonies sent me rolling on the floor laughing (I should have wept of sadness,).
Happily I know of profoundly devout people that really practice charity with their heart (and not through so-called “charities”) and are not seeing the world in black or white!
