My Fargo climb will be spotlighted on ABC 7 Eyewitness news tonight sometime between 6:20-6:35pm, PST. Not sure if it will run nationwide. I’ll try to tape it.
I was racing to send the the raw footage to the TV station, by their request, but the file was apparently too big and was kicked back! So then they asked me to just upload the raw video to youtube, and send them the link, which I did, but by then it was past the deadline for the 6:30 news.
So it will be on at 11pm. For those who won’t be up that late, including me, or don’t get ABC 7 Eyewitness news LA, I will record it off TV, and then upload it to youtube and post it. Pretty cool!

The segment ran last night on ABC. From what the producer told me, it was seen by millions, so it’s another great promo for our sport!

That was excellent; I really enjoyed it.
Didn’t it seem like that news presentation was like a parody of your other clips? A surreal type of commentary, of sorts, like in the movie Forrest Gump where the main character gets inserted into some major news story of the times? I’m so accustomed to seeing you climb hills and ride Muni in your clips, and then to hear some news lady commenting on your skills on top of that, it seemed kind of funny.

Sometimes you have to take a step back, and notice you’re a great athlete and unicyclist, regardless of age. Oldest person to climb Fargo Street? No, you’re the first and only one to do it! Enjoy that superlative for now. I’m sure you’ll still be the oldest after a bunch of other people eventually do it…
Now someday you’re going to have to find your way to New Zealand, to take on #1…

Yeah, I saw that “teaser” before the full segment and also thought that was a bit strange, haha. “Hilly” is an understatement! That’s like saying the Sahara has some sand! 
I can’t wait to see others try it, and succeed. At the same time, it’s still pretty cool to know that even though others will follow, I will always be the first to have done it.
Haha, guess that true…for the moment. There’s no doubt in my mind that there will be many younger riders who will make it, I don’t know how soon someone 55 or older will do it, but it would be GREAT to see!
Maybe sometime soon we can organize our own Fargo hill climb challenge…for unicyclists! We could have various categories, like fastest ascent, the most ascents, youngest, oldest, biggest wheel size, and special awards for who can ride straight up, or at least who could go straight up the farthest, before starting to traverse. I think it would be a fricken AWESOME event!
