Abba's relatively new handle thing.

for some welding practice last week, i went and made myself a new reeder-esque handle.
at CMW i tried out some handles that had a full-wrap-hand-around type grip, like the reeder and some other awesome handle.

so i decided, heck, if it breaks, i can just switch back to the KH handle i had before. So i went for it.

Looks like a potential nut-basher… but then again so does a normal reeder. Give it a whirl, let us know how it feels!

i plan to pad it down a bit with a handle grip…
note that that is still bare metal, and i’ve only done small hops and stuff with it. I’m not gonna try it out to the extreme untill i borrow a grip offa one of my parent’s/my sister’s/someone’s b*ke.

Hey, it does look like a reeder:). On my reeder I had to cut about a half an inch off the end so it wouldnt hit my leg. Yours looks alot longer so I suggest cutting it down a little. Test it out first to make sure it needs to be cut, it might just be that angle that makes it look so long. I can’t comment on the welds because 1) I can’t really see them and 2) I know nothing about welding.

The thing that is cool about yours is that it fits a kh bolt pattern. That might lead to another problem though…With normal kh seats there is usually alot of flex after a while and with a handle like that you would have alot more leverage so it has the potential to flex more.

Did you use the same size metal as a reeder? if not I don’t know if you will be able to find a grip that will fit it.

Just a warning from my experience: putting a grip on it will not help very much if it stabs you in your leg on a unispin.

Looks cool though, I hope it doesn’t break on you. Good job:D

i dunno. I just picked up some scrap tubing that felt good in my hand and used it.

if i can’t find a grip, i’ll just wrap it in cloth tape.

use road bike tape

Threads like these are ideal for RSU. Construction projects like this one related to unicycling are always of interest. Looks like you’re turning into a welder. Don’t let the word get out or you’ll suddenly have lots of friends with welding projects.
