A unique comment

A mountainbike rider made the most original comment I have heard in a
long time today. He pulled off the single track we were riding in
opposing directions to let me pass. I thanked him as I went by and he
said, “That’s all right man. An ace trumps a deuce every time.”

That my friend is a quick witted individual.

That is incredible. I wouldn’t be surprised if he sat at home, thought that up, and then just hoped that someday he’d find someone to say that to! But all joking aside, that truly is one of the coolest things I’ve ever heard.

Re: A unique comment

what?, is he some kind of joker?

(i just couldn’t help myself)

You should be getting paid for this.

GILD you are the King!

That has to be the finest spontaneous comment I’ve seen, heard, or read yet. Thanks for posting it, John.

The sig line I’ve used in the past, “it takes twice the man to ride half the bike”, was similar in that it was spontaneously spoken by a guy watering his lawn as I rode by.

Definitely a classic line by a bicyclist. I wonder if the guy had it “at the ready” from seeing you or another unicyclist in the past? Was this on your usual trail?

Re: A unique comment

Yes it was. I had never seen him before, but I run into him again later. I
rode down a side trail to look at the lake at the place where we rode on
the sloping granite slab, which is completely under water. He rode down
there too and I talked to him for a while.I told him that his comment was
the best I had ever heard. He said it just popped into his head when he saw
me.

I think that someone should make this quote into a bumper sticker or a t-shirt. I’d buy one. Gilby?

Not too long ago I got the best one I’ve had so far:

“Hey! Are you insured for that?”
