A tragic loss of good beer

One of the McMenamins pubs burned down last night. Mcmenamins makes my favorite beers. They have over 40 pubs in Oregon and a handfull up here near Seattle. They usually put their pubs in older buildings. The Rock Creek Tavern that burned down was built on the foundation of an old stagecoach stop after the stagecoach stop burned down. I had been to the Rock Creek Tavern just once. Fortunately they’re going to rebuild, but I don’t see how it’s going to be the same.

Any loss of beer is tragic, even if being thrown up.

The loss of training beer like Bud Lite is not tragic at all, I would even consider the loss of Bud Lite to be a good thing. The loss of a good microbrew along with brewing equipment is what’s tragic.

Yeah, but training beer costs money, money that can be spent on good beer. So you would at least want to stomach it.

i still mourn the loss of the 'pig ‘n whistle’ in cape town
(the pig’s the place!)
on mondays from 2-7 they used to have a ‘happy-five-hours’
got closed down due to residents complaints
hell, they’ve been complaining for 17 years at that point so u gotta hand it to them on persistence alone

sit back down, have a beer and feel sorry for yourself

then find the next pub and hope it wont break your heart…
