it’s just the entire point of no setup hops is to make stuff look smoother and be harder, so prehops kindof ruin that.

Just work on static hops, I can hop just as high without a prehop as with one (only about 28"). I just do prehops because it is a habit.

Same. I feel like when I prehop, it takes some of the concentration away from tucking the wheel up, and when I do it static, I am way more focused on bringing the wheel under me and up.

So, depending on what you’ve gotten used to, you could hop higher with a prehop or none, right?

I’f I ever get half as good as you guys that will be a goal of mine; eliminate virtually all prehops.

Don’t make it a goal for the future, start now. That way you won’t become totally relient on pre-hops.

OK, but when I can regularly hop up stairs. Right now I’m only comfortable hopping w/ a support close by, I’ve done a max of 15 consecutive hops. When I can consistently get 20+ I’ll do it away from the rail.
