A step in the right direction?

Many people, Republicans and Democrats alike, criticized Bush’s spying. Now wether or not he could legally do that is not what this thread is about, but do you think this is better? I personally think this is a good sign, and makes me feel a little more at ease. What do you think?

Wow. I actually made a thread I thought people would want to debate in, ot at least reply too, and it has been completely ignored!

I like to spy.

I didn’t really read about any steps in that article. Warrantless searches are apparently continuing, and a “secret court” is examining the issue, and mostly not tell anyone anything.

The President said:
“The courts yesterday said I did have the authority,” the president said in an interview with Tribune Broadcasting. “That’s important. And the reason it’s important that they verify the legalities of the program is it means it’s going to extend, make it extend beyond my presidency. This is a really important tool for future presidents to have.”

That could be seen as a step in the opposite direction…
