A sad day.

On Sunday I cut down a tree. And on Monday I awoke with posion ivy on my hands. I went uni-ing and landed some new stuff and had alot of fun. Popped a tire toooooooo. But then today, on Wednesday, I woke up with my ankles swollen and covered in posion ivy. I went uni-ing for not long and had to come home.:frowning: I should be able to ride by Saturday… :frowning:

I also want to give my condolences to anyone related or hurt in anyway from 9.11.01. God bless.

Perhaps you shouldn’t have cut down the tree! As a nature lover, I hope your luck continues to be (not too) bad for 2 weeks.

That reminds me that there is poison oak in Santa Cruz. I’ll try to remember to pick up some Oak-n-Ivy soap before MUni Weekend just in case.

Where I ride all I usually have to worry about is stinging nettles. Poison oak and ivy are fortunately not something I have to watch out for in the areas that I ride.

why do we have threads liek this here?

When my nephew came over from NZ (he was 6) to the UK he hadn’t seen stinging nettles and wearing nothing but shorts, not even shoes, he ran into a big bush of them, he was not happy.

Re: A sad day.

True enough, although this time of year it’s not NEARLY as bad as in the
spring or early summer. I recommend Tech-nu. You apply it afterwards, and it
really helps a lot. It can completely eliminate the itching, or make 3 weeks
of strong itching into 10 days of minor itching. More info on this stuff at

I just got a prescription today. I’m gonna look into that stuff. Thanks

I found calamine lotion helped out a lot. But I’m sure that’s common knowledge for most folk.

Re: A sad day.

I recommend Benadryl ointment.
