A new guy with an inquiry

A few months ago I decided I wanted to learn to ride a unicycle. So I had my
local bike shop order me one. It’s called a zephyr (24"), and it was something
around $90. After about a week me and a friend had gotten good enough to ride to
the end of the driveway before falling off. Then my friend turned the corner and
went down the block! After another week, I was able to simply “go” wherever I
felt like. Nothing snazzy, just forward, right, and left. This was the beginning
of August, and now I use my unicycle to get around my junior college campus. I
can complete level 2 Comfortably. I can Idle with left foot down, almost with
right. I can almost go backwards, gimme about another 2 weeks and I’ll have it.
My personal record for going down steps is 8 steps. Anyhow, now that I’ve worked
myself way off track… Just recently my friend that I learned to ride with got
a unicycle (we were unicycle jousters for halloween, so much fun!). A schwinn.
The seat is simply better than the one I have, so I’ve decided to order one of
those. It’ll fit the post I have, but the problem is, I would like to order a
new post from whoever makes the Zephyr, and I have no clue who that is! I kinda
bent the post a tad (nothing severe) when I over tightened the quick release
clamp several times trying to get the correct height while learning. It’s at the
right height now, but I can’t lower the seat for anyone else who wishes to try.
Sorry, Rambling again. Who makes the Zephyr?

Why replace a seat post that can’t take having the bolt tightened? It takes
a lot of tightening to resist the seat twisting under the pressure of an
adult learning.

Zephyr is a distributor of cycle stuff, including those unicycles from Taiwan.
The best way to get a part for it (virtually any part, for any unicycle) is to
call Tommy Miller at the Unicycle Factory (765) 452-2692 (Indiana). He’s got it
all, including Zephyrs.

Good luck, John Foss, the Uni-Cyclone (reply to jfoss@unicycling.com)

You asked where a Zephyr comes from. Take a look at
http://www.unicyclesource.com/Zephyr28518.html - seems like the one you have.
