Ok, so it’s not quite unicycling related…but it’s forum worthy none the less. I have a friend going to school at USC. He calls me up a couple weeks ago and tells me he got a ticket. I ask him what it was for and he tells me “For riding my bike across the street”. That’s illegal? Ok, so I know it’s something you aren’t supposed to do, but a ticket? He said they’d mail him a notice for how much it would be for.
Fast forward to yesterday. He calls me up and informs me the thicket was for $143!!! If I did my math correct, the amount a ticket would be here for going 26 MPH over the speed limit.
Now he doesn’t know what to do cause he’s coming home (to Hawaii) next week and not returning to Cali till mid January. The whole appeal thing has to be done before January 7.
Around here, if you call the court and explain that you are going to be out of state, (or whatever), and can’t make the scheduled date, they will usually push it back to the following month. Try that. Good luck. That fine does sound pretty stiff.
I got finned not too long ago 118$ for bicycling in a park (I was actually on a unicycle).
still waiting for the court date…
details in my unicycling and law enforcement thread…
atleast us canadians are tough enough to live in igloos and ice fish all day and have snow fights in the summer rather then sit in jaccuzzi’s all day and sip your expencive beer all day long
80% of Canada’s population lives within 200 miles of the US border. The rest of this, the 2nd largest country in the world by area, is just wasted space.
You should try sitting in a jaccuzzi (all night with women) and sip my expensive beer (Dos Equis-with lime). It’s quite an enjoyable past-time.
ps… this works great at natural hot-springs as well.
You can have your igloo and ice fishing. But don’t get me wrong, I like the cold. I alpine ski when I’m not in the hot water. It’s great, skiing the double black daimonds knowing there is a bar at the lodge at the bottom of the mountian.
