Well, finally, I arrived home yesterday to find a spanking new Monty wheel
waiting for me. The plan had gone well… I’d got myself a splendid DM
Ringmaster (standard not Advanced) with the intention of gifting it the Monty
wheel upon its arrival. With a few spins of a spanner I slotted the DM frame on
to the new wheel and had a slow motion moment when I realised the frame was
just (and only just) too small for that big, fat, bouncy, lovely tyre. Boo hoo.
All is not lost as it does fit my original Taiwanese frame. So, anyway, as I dry
my eyes I’ll get to the point of this post… Some of you might remember a
thread “calling all uni techies” a while back in which I was spouting lots of
questions in the search for a great trials uni. I’ve got the wheel but now find
myself still looking for a great, strong and light 20" frame. Those of you with
Monty tyres - what kind of frame are you riding?

Wouldn’t a 20" frame work?

Old style (1996) DM Ringmaster Pro 20" with 1.5mm Clearance each side and 3 mm
at the top.

N.B. The Advanced Ringmaster will definitely not fit as it is designed with
minimal clearance for a 2 inch tyre.
