Thank you, im very interested in polotics and government corruption. This helps me learn and makes me feel smarter on the inside.

This should be a primer for explaining what a republic is versus a democracy, as well as explaining what is constitutional and lawful.
Right on!
Gilby,
Thanks for posting this. I am a student of our constitutional republic since my early teens. It is incumbent on each of us to educate ourselves, and it is excellent to see you post this kind of information (links). This community was already awesome; seeing that you are this kind of thinker makes it even more so. Thanks again!
Republic = Rule by Law
Constitution = Highest Law of the Land
God’s Law = Highest Law
Thanks for bumping this thread. I’m going to watch the videos this time – something I didn’t do the first time around. I don’t know who the speaker is, but if he’s endorsed by Gilby, then that’s good enough for me.
However, I’m reluctant to publicly express too much interest in the Constitution for fear of fitting the profile of… let’s just say, the T word. We live in troubling times.
well anybody can twist semantics… this is a constitutional right…
but many people can think that this is a subliminal message to : “republicans” = good, “democrats” = bad (which may be thought as partisanship not education)
well anybody can twist semantics… this is a universal right…
I doubt that: “bolivarian republic”, “people’s republic”, “islamic republic” and , for sure , “democratic republic” will really fit what you have in mind …
Politicians always destroy terminology, and the way these two terms are used today by political parties, I would say they are both bad.
The term democracy is not in the constitution, the term republic is:
“The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government”
It is that definition of republic that I was referring to. Plato’s Republic.
Sorry to be dense. What is the T word? Terrorist is all I could think of. Constitutional terrorist? huh?
I have been called many things because I am vocal (without being overbearing or obnoxious), but I am pretty comfortable letting people know that I am more than interested in the Constitution. Indeed, I frequently find opportunity to compare recent events and governmental decisions and actions against the Constitution. It does seem to make some people pretty uncomfortable.
God gave me the rights, it’s up to me to keep up my end of the liberty bargain!
It is true that we live in troubled and troubling times. I wonder how much more so than so many other times in world history? Not to downplay the current troubles, rather to put them in perspective.
“When bad men combine, the good must associate; else they will fall, one by one, an unpitied sacrifice in a contemptible struggle.” Edmund Burke, 1770.
“All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing”. Also attributed to Burke, though there is no written evidence that he said it.
It seems a good time to figure out what we believe, and stand for it, doesn’t it?
FBI Pamphlet - Who’s a Terrorist?
Is the U.S. Constitution Terrorist?
(I have no idea who runs these web sites. I simply landed on those specific pages via a Google search and didn’t otherwise look around.)
Google search: FBI constitution terrorism
If this is just a bunch of crap, do let me know. But it seems real. And when you combine that mentality with the Patriot Act, well, you get the “troubling times” I referred to in my previous post.
At least when they start rounding us up, I’ll be in good company (Gilby). And obviously if I were truly worried, I wouldn’t be posting here at all…
Hmmmmm.
No one has heard anything from Dave since he disappeared, shortly after making that last post
Dave was at my place passing out ACLU pamphlets to tailgaters with me. Then we went to a 9/11 conspiracy meeting. They had good cookies there.
