-51c

Its minus 51c here today. (with the wind) (-37c without wind) Anyone up for a ride?

that is pretty cold.
There’s about two feet of snow here already and it’s still snowing pretty hard, but the temperature is just 27 F, which is like -5 C I think, not too cold.

Where is “here?”

How about Friday? I was planning on coming down for that kiteboarding demo anyway. Should be a balmy -29 (+wind) by then:)

I am actually semi serious, hope to be in toon town all weekend. It shouldn’t be much colder than the last time we rode but I bet the kiteboarding will be canceled:( (planned Saturday 11-4 by the #5)

Saskatoon Sask. Canada.

I work this Friday Eric. & I think the Kite thing is on for Sunday and not Saturday.

-45 here, can’t do anything except gain weight and get pressure sores for the next while. sucks.

Wow, it gets really cold in the prairies. I didn’t know it got that cold. It is a nice 8 degrees here in Toronto.

That’s why it’s called a “wind-chill-fucker.”

I checked the e-mail and you are right! You may of just saved me a random trip to the drive in to wonder if anyone would show up

I wouldn’t be able to get to S’toon before it would start to get dark out on Friday anyway.

The great thing about this weather is we can wave the risk of mountain pine beetle goodbye (for another few years) and it should at least slow down Dutch Elm Disease.

edit: forecast lows tonight -41˚ with a wind-chill of -58, this is almost as cold as 2004.

We had a big dump of snow here prior to the cold setting in so I’m still digging out. This helps keep me from getting too fat.

Just -13c here, but the wind chill makes it feel like -26c!

-35C today but no wind chill.

Yeah you guys get more seasonable temperatures but your summer humidity and wet heavy winter snows can be a real problem.

As the expression goes: “It’s a dry cold”

I will be tied up Friday night and may be away to Swift Current on Saturday. Might try to catch the kite stuff on Sunday (as well on Sunday there is a winter carnival in the City Park area at one of the schools. there might be ice races later in the afternoon for bikes. Might take my Uni for a rip on the rink)

My truck didn’t start this morning so I skipped my morning “classes” Botany was cancelled so I just missed my GIS work time (2 weeks ahead anyway).

I thought that it was going to warm up towards noon but it is currently -42, good thing the wind died. It is going to be a chilly ride today.

Thanks for the heads up for the winter carnival, I might have to see how fast I can get running shorter cranks on my MUni (still don’t have a winter tire for the 36er)

Sometimes I wished that I still lived in S’toon for all the random events and constant live music, I guess I spend less money here in PA.

Feel free to spend all that cash your saving when you are here. We like the tourist’s money.

Temp Trivia: Did you know that at the temperature of negative 40, this temperature is the same on both the Fahrenheit and Celsius temperature scales?

Us Americans have something in common with the rest of the world! Either way, that’s way to cold for me. I’ve never experience anything below -15F.

-15F is aprox. -27C

-30C is aprox. -20F
-35C is aprox. -30F

and as you have mentioned -40 is the same on both the F & C scales

-51C is aprox. -60F

Any time you would care to “experience” something below -15F were here for you.

Our winters in the prairie provinces of Canada can be pretty cold and snowy anytime from Oct. through Mar. but we do have great spring, summer and fall conditions.

Visit us in the summer you’ll like us better then.
