40+ feet of snow this year- where am i?

This weekend I traveled to a part of the state that has had over 40 feet of snow so far this winter. Colorado is blanketed in white, state snowfall average is 150% so far, yipppee. The skiing has been epic for 2+months, and whitewater season looks to be bad ass as well. Luckily this weekend the temperatures were nice, 20’s F. This place has a sweet river trail that the city plows, so between my daughters hockey games, I spun my way down the mostly snowpacked trail. Over 4’ of snow lined the trail on both sides. Any guess’s?

one more picture to help guess.

You must be in that place… whats it called?.. oh, Im So Jealous.

Thats hilarious… omgosh ummmm Canada, Antarctica idk

Wolf Creek?

great guess steveyo, but not the place i am looking for

No idea, but it looks fantastic.

Where is it?

That looks a bit like my old stomping ground of Steamboat Springs, Colorado. River trail makes it a good guess, too…edg

Kinda looks like Beaver Creek back there…
So I’ll guess Avon?

edit: I think edg got it. 40’ of snow… has to be Steamboat!

Looks like northern AZ to me. Except for the fact that the mountains look different those photos coulda been taken out my back door. I know you used to ski Snow Bowl years ago, Aspenmike. The newspaper last week said they’ve got 200% of normal snow pack there.

You are right underdog, could be AZ. I am so glad that the west is getting pounded this year with snow. Skiing must be good there at the snowbowl, (used to ski there, 70’s :astonished: ) ,go make some turns!

We have a winner:D Steamboat Springs it is! When did you live there edg?

Not sure if this is what edg did or not…but if you save the images you can see they are named SteamboatCokerRide.jpg.

Where am I?

Mike- I was in Steamboat from 1996-1999 (I track it by the restaurants where I washed dishes Hilltop Overlook, Cugino’s, Giovanni’s), then I moved to Truckee, CA., which looks just the same right now- very snowy. When spring hits, I’m looking forward to taking my beginning Muni steps, in between whitewater training runs…edg

Great job on the pics. What beautiful country

Gah, we went to Colorado this year for 5 days and it didn’t snow once. :(. Oh well, there was still plenty of powder in the back bowls of Vail to ski in   :).

ya i live in colorado and looks like keystone to me...
