Yeah 3d modeling is my hobby and hopefully my career here sometime.
Ive never used cinema 4d but I would like to see what it’s capable of.
Here is a creature model im currently working on:
i done this a few weeks ago for class, we had to do a news logo, and i just recently finished a remake of an old mtv logo.
Looks pretty good, do you use after effects or something similiar for post work, or is that all done in c4d?
i dont work 3D. i live 3D!
the shine is c4d, the text and flash is ae.
i just finished this today too. i started working with sound effectors, the red V moves on the z axis from the sound
i do a fair amount of 3D design work, using solidworks. I’ve been mainly designing stuff for the machinists for my fourth year project, and using the models for computational flow dynamics and finite element analysis. I’m actually drawing a uni as a practise, perfect down to the last internal detail incl. stuff like bearings, internal rim section. The seat is proving a royal pain in the ass.
thats sounds awesome! could you maybe show some of your work or do you have to keep it on the DL?
No surprise there.
Id like to see it too, if its possable.
i do a little 3d cad as a hobby but no animations or anything.
I wil leave you with this little nugget for tonight, this is the Qu-Ax 125mm ST freestyle cranks on a nimbus hub, loaded with 100kg spread equally between the pedals. The deformation is obviously massively amplified to make it visible, and the colouring refers to the Von Mises (basically a 3D average) stress at each point. You can see the red inside the taper of the right crank where the stress is high, for instance. I’ll post some more genreal ones when I have time tomorrow.
thats really neat, sounds extremley techy haha. i cant wait to see more
I was wondering, what programs do you all use for this sort of stuff?
-Miles
the stuff im doing is done in cinema 4d
Is it free?
I haven’t been able to figure out from their site haha.
I did some stuff in 3DS Max a while back in high school… Don’t have anything to show, didn’t save anything to CD before they wiped the student drives at the end of the school year.
If you want free, then check out Blender.
As part of my college course we were required to work firstly in Cinema 4D (which I hated) and then afterwards in XSI (used in many films and computer games).
This is my Cinema 4D creation

XSI isn’t easy but you can get some real nice results from it this is a character I had to model and rig (for animating) for a part of my course. If I can i’ll try locate the animation I did for it.
Here is my hammer and my tennis court, not very good compared to you two. But it’s okay I guess.
The proportions on the tennis court are off from when I had to re change the size.
im not really looking to get into character design that much, mostly just a bit of c4d for now to enhance my work a little, ao i guess it will do for now.
im seeing some good stuff here, im glad to see some moer 3d’rs
