29" Continental Mountain King 2.2

Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with the 29" Continental Mountain King 2.2"?

I have one, and I’ve found that its kind of hard to handle on pavement, turning is all twisty and unstable. This is normal, right?

It works well on gravel and dirt, though. Tracks well, and doesn’t have the above-mentioned control issues.

At only 500g, its a pretty light tire, too.

Has anyone compared them to the Exiworlf or Weirwolf? Or any other 29er off-road tire?

Thanks for any input

Took the Mountain King on a decent downhill muni trail today in the Pine Grove Furnace Park in southcentral PA. Lots of rocky sections, some mud/streams, and 1/2’ and 1’ drops. This tire handled great! Never once lost grip.

I’d never been there before, so I just sort of picked a trail out of many, from the top of the mountain. Rode 2 or 3 miles all the way down, then realized I was at the bottom and would have to get back up :frowning: Walked/rode back up the road I drove up on. The drops on the trail made going up it very difficult on a uni, and way beyond my fitness level.

Keep in mind though, that my skill and fitness level are not very high.

I had a 2.2 it was pretty small compared to a Geax and a Kenda Nevegal. The 2.4 Conti would be my choice.

Glad it worked out for you.
