I’m wondering wether a 28" nimbus is going 2 be fast enough for commuting, transport around town etc. It is availible from unicycle.uk.com. Also i’m tempted to go for a coker, but its a bit out of my price range. Could anyone give an idea as to the durability of the nimbus?
(Ref: “British Muni Weekend” thread, replied to by Roger Davies.) If you
do come to Steve’s unicycle day you can try out my Nimbus 28". I brought
it along to the last one - it was the only one there. A couple of people
tried it out but I wan’t planning on taking it this time since nearly
everybody was exclusively on 20"ers. Although I saw at least one coker and
several MUnis of course. That said, I’ll throw it into the back of my Mini
with the others… It can’t hurt to have it there. I average about
10mph (on the Nimbus, not in Mini). This is a bit weedy, most people could
go faster generally.
It soaks up the bumps nicely though, particularly with the larger tyre
available from unicycle.uk.com. Once you get the wheel going it doesn’t
take much to keep it cruising.
Basically it’s roughly 28 20ths of the speed of your 20" unicycle. (though
it depends on crank length too.)
I don’t know how durable it is, I haven’t used mine much yet. (A screw
fell of the viscount seat but it is a viscount seat after all, I’m going
to replace it with a air-converted bogglefingers seat).

Depends on how far your commute is and how fast you want to go. The 28"
Nimbus will be a lot more manouverable than the Coker in traffic. If you
really want some speed you can always put some titchy cranks on it and
wiggle those toes. Cokers are very nice, but if you can’t afford it a 28"
will be a good compromise.
