Does any body have a 26x1 tyre on their uni? If you have could you Please let me
know what the out side diameter of the wheel is with a 26x1 on, in centimeters.
I’m trying to work out if its worth spending the money on one of these tyres for
raceing, my lbs have quoted me 19ukp for one.
Nice chap in the bike shop, he puts up with me asking werid questions and even
points out bits and pices of gear he things i might find usefull.

I have a pair of 26x1.25 Specialized Fatboy slicks, which you can inflate to 110
psi, which I sometimes use on my bike; I have been toying with the idea of
trying one on the uni but never got around to it, mainly because I never ride on
the road and I don’t fancy it for Muni. It looks like it would add 2 - 2.25
inches to the diameter of the rim which will be touch and go for a 24 inch total
which I assume is what you are aiming for.
Only one way to find out, I’ll bring one on Sunday and you can try it out if you
like! 19 pounds sounds expensive, I paid about 12 for these.
