26"-24"

what is better a 26 or a 24" i can ride both this for muni i rrreally want a muni but do not know what would be better i know about onza’s but i am looking at the nimbus as i am poor

I ride a 24x3.0 with a rhynolite rim, intense tire, suzue hub, monty cranks, a KH saddle, and a Yuni (Nimbus 2) frame, which cost less than $300. I’d reccomend going with a 24x3.0, as they’re easier to control than a 26. If you expect to doing things that could end up damaging cranks, you might want the Onza. I am also pretty poor (I earn my money for astronomy and unicycling by refereeing futbol games)(I do live in America where futbol is soccer, but I think futbol is such a better name), so I buy stuff that’s 1-2 steps ahead of my skill level, so I don’t break the bank, but I’m also not constantly replacing parts. You may also want to consider the KH 24 or building your own ride. I built mine and saved about $100 by building my own wheel and such. You could get a KH hub and crankset and build around that. With a Nimbus 2 frame and a dx-32 rim you could probably build a 24x3 splined uni for less then $325 (about 200 GBP). It’ll take a while, though. Hope this helped.

Re: 26"-24"

I don’t find a 26’ too much faster than a 24’ and a 24’ is a lot more maneuverable and easy to handle. I never ride my 26’ anymore- it’s always 24’ for technical MUni/urban-riding/trials or a 29’ for fast XC riding. And Coker for the road.

I almost missed this thread, it really should be in the main forum. Each unicycle has its own place where it excels. I have a KH24 with a 3.0 X 24 Gazz. and brakes which is a very nice machine. I also have a 28” Yuni with a 3.0 X 24 Gazz both have the same size cranks. I ride Yuni most of the time now days, the place I ride is more like cross country with about 500 - 1000 feet of climb. For some reason it is easier to go up on the 26 then it is on the 24, I think it is the way that I go through the dead spot on the 26 that makes the differents. On the 24 I have a very choppy ride and it is harder to keep my balance I end up walking a lot more on the up hill, on the 26 I roll past the dead spot and keep going kind of like the flywheel effect on the Coker( I also have a coker and a 29er but this is not about them). It would be different for other people with better skills, I don’t hop much and I’m not on very technical trails so I don’t need the extra strength or maneuverability of the 24. I do cover a lot of ground and I like the extra speed. Try both on the same trail if you can.

thanks

i have riden both but the 26" was a muni and the 24" was a cheep skinny tyre so i am still unsure what to do i like the idea of a 26" as it is just cool but i am not sure if the 24" would be better for me i am going to the woods near me with people who have 26" and 24" so that may help me but this is at the end of the month .edit also i would not need it for trials as i have a 20" with a dx 32 it is just for muni and distance riding
