24 X 2.4 Maxxis Holy Roller?

Does anyone use, or know about 24 X 2.4 Maxxis Holy Roller tire? I was
thinking about ordering one for my schwinn 24" uni, ($30 through Maxxis.com)
so I could at least have a decent fat, grippy tire on it for short hopping
and maybe some grinding. The frame will easily accomidate this size, but
will the rim? I have welgo pinned pedals on it also. I am now waiting to get
my shin/knee/elbow/wrist armour via 661 4x4 and 661 2x4. I got the combo
pack for $ 39 at blueskycycling.com. the acyual link is:

I think since I am 5’11’and about 165 I would be better off with a 24"
instead of a 20", and because I want to use it for BOTH muni and trials.
Yes, I will probably get a better uni in the future; would the torker dx be
a good starter, or should I just go all out with a kh or similar quality?
Thanks! Terry

I know Mike Fule uses or used the Holy roller tire on his pashley. Here is a piece he wrote about a ride on it In the (not so) bleak midwinter

FWIW, these come as stock on all the high-end MTBs at the LBS. (haha acronyms)

If 2-3000$ mountain bikes are running these, there has to be something to them.

Mikefule also likes them, but he’s really weird.

my mate used to ride with holy rollers on his mtb, he sed they were great for grip! i have never heard bout them being ridden on trials uni’s from many ppl, but they should go well

Oi, I resemble that remark!

I have had 4 different tyres on my Pashley 26 MUni, ranging from about 26 x 1.95 to 26 x 2.4. The Holy Roller 2.4" steers best, handles best, feels best. I assume, but don’t know, that the 24 x 2.4 will be the same section and tread.
