2003 Resolutions

Hi.

Last year I suggested some possible New Year’s Resolutions like:

MUni through the Grand Canyon.
Become the Seeker on the European Unicycle Quidditch team.
Build a two-wheel-tall Super Coker and pedal backwards across Australia.

This year, let’s see. . . .

Build a Blue Shift out of leftover washing machine parts.
Redecorate your home using only furniture and lamps that were once
unicycles.
Ask the people at Webster’s to add UPD to their dictionary.

What else?

Oh, how about:

Pack up the unicycles and the kids and head for beautiful Minnesota next
summer.

See you in 2003!

P.S. Got Uni Racers for Christmas, so we’re playing that tonight at the New
Year’s party. The little unicycle takes a bow when it wins! (Mine never
bows though.)

Re: 2003 Resolutions

Yours is too stiff to bow. I am planning on coming to Minnesota just because you offered to buy root beer this time. Hey, let’s stay up late together and watch the sun set, whaddya say?

My friend Sean Webster is actually a direct decendant of Noah Webster, however, he is in no way an heir. but i’ll see what i can do about that.

P.S. did you all know tht back then Webster was actually spelt Webstre (it derives form an old european word for female loom weaver), but pronounced the same, unfortunatley America has a way of changing immigrants name speling when they immigrate, for exaple my last name should actually be spelt Person(pronounced Pear-son) but it is spelt Pearson and is pronounced peer-sin.

An offer I can’t refuse.

And I am definitely planning to provide the root beer. Possibly also
Tootsie Rolls and bubble gum. We’ll see.

Is Buster coming, too? We have squirrels here. They’re slow. He will love
them.

Ah-ha! All becomes a little clearer. The reason that Americans are
unable to correctly spell “centre”, is that their dictionary compiler was
unable to spell even his own name!
Back to basics and let there be a new edition of Webstre’s Dictionary.

Noami

My great-great-grandsomething on my mother’s side married Mr. Rolls who partnered with a Mr. Royce to form a company. I drive a Dodge.

Ok, continuing this way OT thread, my wife and daughter are direct descendents of Fuller of Mayflower fame, Roger Williams of Rhode Island fame, as well as being related to other noted Americans such as Benedict Arnold, John Brown, and yes, Noah Webstre (sic).

I am a son of the eastern European shtetl.

Oh yes, one of my new year’s resolutions is (was) to stop making irrelevant, off-topic posts here. Oh well.

Happy New Year all.

Re: 2003 Resolutions

I know a lot of people here don’t care much for clowns, but way back in the
family tree there’s an interesting name.

‘Bobo’

No first or last name, just Bobo. I don’t think I’ll investigate that.
Some things are better left alone.

Another interesting branch goes back to ‘Harper’.

So, there’s two On Topics.

Re: 2003 Resolutions

Is that anywhere near the real Minnesota? Buster is already salivating.

I am a direct decsendant(sp?) of the Reverend Thomas Hooker.
He started Rhode Island or something like that.

pure american white trash here with Russian roots (i can drink Vodka, boy can i drink Vodka!)

in the year 2003 i resolute to 1: use more old technology.

2: keep my new unicycle for a full year.

3: post less.maybe

4: possibly get rid of my computer.

Actually Hooker founded Hartford, Connecticut. Roger Williams founded Rhode Island.

My wife and daughter are also descendants of Henry Denslow who founded a town near Hartford called Windsor Locks.

(You may have noticed that my genealogical knowledge is all lived vicariously through my wife.)

Re: Re: 2003 Resolutions

Nope, beautiful Minnesota is a few hundred miles south of the real one.

Re: Re: Re: 2003 Resolutions

My new years resolution:

I will not do anything stupid.

So far so good
