20 inch trials tire

I want to buy a trials tire for my 20 inch nimbus club unicycle. I want to do bigger hops and a large volume trials tire seems to be the best option. I am looking at this: http://www.unicycle.com/Shopping/shopexd.asp?id=1205 because it says it will convert my normal 20 inch unicycle into a trials type unicycle. Does anyone know of a better 20 inch trials tire?

I am pretty sure this is the only Trials tire you can put on a 20" rim. You can probably find some on Trials bike shops on internet, but I think normaly Bike trials rider use smaller tires in front, I might be wrong.

There are other large volume 20" tires out there but mostly with slicker tread and a harder compound. That tire is probably the best one you can get for the job of trails on a true 20" rim.

Now before ordering that tire you should make sure it is going to fit and you are going to have to realize that as long as you have a relatively narrow rim your unicycle will not have a true trials unicycle feel.

It would suck to get your tire and realize that it does not fit on your unicycle. Measure the distance from the top of your tire to the bottom of your frame. You need to have at least 1/2" of room. If you don’t you can shim up your frame but we will try to avoid that.

As long as you are using a wide tire on a narrowish rim you will need to keep the pressure a little bit higher to avoid folding the tire effectively killing a huge part of your tires advantage.

I am not saying don’t do it but just warning you it is not a magic answer making a freestyle into a lightweight trials.
