I would like to show a video of daike izumeda, I put two videos together, both of them shows almost the same rutine performed by Daike at two different Unicons, that way you can see the minor changes between them at a time.
That was really interesting. I thank you for it. Was it supposed to be in RSU? A couple times I thought they were going to crash, and then I remembered what was going on. Good work.
Wow, that was one freaky video. The black & white outfit is from Unicon XII last summer. I couldn’t make out the location of the “ghost image”. It was strange the way the “ghost Daike” moved around to stay lined up with the more recent version of himself. My guess is that the ghost Daike is from a different Japanese competition, not a previous Unicon. I could tell better if I could see the background.
Looks like Daike needs a new act.
Then again, I’ve been known to do the same thing. Actually, the Freestyle performance I put together for 1985 was the one I later polished for use in shows for many years. I brought it back in 1987 (to win in Tokyo) and I think I did a different variation on it in 1990 I think. Please don’t put videos of those performances side-by-side. They were good in their day, but the state-of-the-art has greatly improved!
I thought it was interesting, and somewhat funny. Daike Izumeda is one of my favorite riders; he seems to invent the most interesting skills. For visual appeal, I don’t think the “coasting leg extended to stand-up wheel walk, seat on side” move can be beat. Does anyone know where I can find more videos of him than just those two and the short clips in Yoggi’s gallery?
It’s not Unicon 11. All the riders shown are Japanese, and I think most of them were not at U11. I think it may be the Japanese Freestyle championships (from 2002). Daike did perform at Unicon 11 though.
