19" wheel in X frame

It has come to the point where I really need a uni for light trials and street. Unfortunately I don’t really have the space to have another entire uni at the moment and a new wheel alone would be easier to handle. My plan would be to mount the wheel in my freestyle frame and swap wheelsets for hockey or when i wanted to practice freestyle.

This is the frame i am currently using http://www.unicycle.uk.com/20-nimbus-x-unicycle-frame-chrome-300mm.html

Would the wheelset fit in the frame, given that it is quite a low clearance on a freestyle wheel.

Would the frame be strong enough to handle ~4ft drops - being about the biggest i would want to go for especially given that it as a 22.2 seatpost (in steel).

Is swapping wheels back and forward once a week or so going to wear the frame out rapidly.

I would call UDC and ask them, but my gut says that it won’t work. Even if you have a shaved tire it looks like the width is too narrow to fit a trials tire.

Why not sell the current uni, and pick up a flatland uni that you can use for light trals, freestyle, flat and basketball? That may be a better compromise than shoehorning a trials wheel into a dedicated freestyle frame.

apparently too small

i got confused by the fact there was a street X frame made at one point although there seems to be very little surviving information.

Thanks though

The frame is high enough but it’s not wide enough for a trials wheel. The clearance from side-to-side is slightly less than a Trials frame.

Ok given that an entire new uni is in order should i go for a KH wheelset with a creepy crawler or an impact wheelset with a choice of tyres (works out ~£10-20 more).

This would go on a reagent frame with 125 moment cranks. I know the KH hub would need a spacer added inside the bearing but given that my LBS will be replacing the bearings on my muni next week, I can get both fitted at the same time.

How common is the KH hub creak, ive seen threads about it but does it happen to pretty much every hub or just the odd one.
