Well if they want to pay more than $150 they can have it, That’s all the fun
money I have after doing my X-mas shopping.

Oh and it’s missing a part that’s hard to find… and I just happen to have
a spare one right here.

I’ll tell you in 2 1/2 hours

(hint think Jake E. Lee (Ozzy, Badlands))

Normaly you can get one for about $300 (and that’s a good deal, they were
$800+ when it was new) But it looks like a buyers market right now… there
is another one on ebay that has a $200 bid right now.

At about a hour to go I increased my bid to 176.28 And the guy kept bidding
a few dollars more… he just beat my bid before the end. :frowning:

Bummer! :frowning:

You’d love my JB Player. Just like that Charvel, but I put three SD
'buckers in it, and each pickup has a mini toggle. It even has a similar
khaler-type trem (copy). It seriously needs a new nut, and perhaps a
refret. If I actually do get that work done, It’ll be my main axe. The
Parker just doesn’t cut it as far as hard rock goes.

I already have a Charvel so that’s covered… I’m really looking for a
Strat… Just as soon as I spot a '62 MIJ reissue lake placid blue, or candy
apple red… it’s mine.

That Charvel was just too cheap not to give it a shot. BUt now I have GAS
BAD!

You’re gonna pay out the nose for a '62 RI MIJ Strat. You saw what I had
to pay just for the neck.

I’ve had GAS for quite some time now, but I’ve been able to keep it
under control. If I get back to work, I’m buying that Godin Flat Five X
that I showed you.

So you are saying you are prolific in your GAS exploits? Thanks for the
warning

I try to stay “out of the know” (and out of the way) as much as possible

LOL!

GAS = Guitar Acquisition Syndrome

Happens when you find one thing you really like but can’t afford. You
start seaching for things you CAN afford but don’t need, and you just
can’t control the urge to buy buy buy.

I thought it was a myth until it struck me last year. I’ve learned to
control it, though. I also have a very cool trick that lets me try out
the latest and greatest toys:

-when you want to try something out, don’t look for the one you can
afford.

-look for the most sought-after, hardest-to-get, highest-resale-value
item of its kind

-you end up paying market vaule for that item, but it doesn’t lose
resale value after you play with it for a while and end up not liking
it, or not using it.

-you then sell it off at the same price or a slightly different margin
of (profit or loss)

The past 4 times I’ve done this, I’ve actually made more money on the
resale (but shipping cancelled it out).

Yep I know… I went out today to try a Jimmie Vaughn MIM Strat… Sounded ok,
played ok, but the fit and finish… ick my #1 Pet peeve, you can feel the
fret tang when you run the fingers along the edge.

I’m in deep shit! after I left our local version of the walmart of music
stores, I stopped at the mom&pop store that’s been downtown for 60 years.

and I saw it…

Sitting in the used section…

a Charvel model 3 in Metallic red for $250 (Just like this one
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=929463432)

It would look soooo good sitting next to my Black Model 4
It’s mine in the morn (LOL what a day to forget my debit card).

Good to see you’re having the ability to have fun. But think twice. Just
make sure you don’t want that Strat more than that Charvel.

Oh I’m sure… Few things I remembered when I was playing strats today (Up to
and including a REAL pretty custom shop one)

I dont like the strat bridge pickup.

The Medium Jumbo frets are too small.

Vintage frets are WAY too small.

Fit and finish really sucks until you get to the +$1000 range (or $5000 if
your talking Gibsons)

I just love Charvels.

They are dirt cheap now.

They use the same hardware as the Jackson versions.

The fit and finish is FAR above anything in the under $1000 bracket.

I got my Charvel 3 months after I started playing (for $1000) and it’s been
my main guitar ever since so it just feels natural to me.

Now I can save my pennys and wait till the winter NAMM… there will be USA
Charvels there. (I just hope they are better than the new MIJ ones)

I got the Charvel! This thing ROCKS and it’s drop dead gorgeous! It’s
also has a 5 way switch and positions 2 and 4 are coil cuts so I can get
some strat sounds too.

Now it’s time to rebuild my Model 4
