1.2 Billion Dollars...

What about the F-35 Lightning II???

You sure Brian? Isn’t the B2 a long range heavy bomber and the F22 a fighter?

P.S. Wiki article says the US built 75 of them. 90 Billion dollars.

Nao

woops, i was thinking of the f117, the stealth fighter, not the stealth bomber.

holy crap!! (a whole new vision of that crash)

Yes, the F-117s are no longer the latest-and-greatest technology, but they will probably remain famous as one of the strangest-looking aircraft ever. Odd-looking from nearly every angle!

Anyway, yes the B2 is designed to carry up to 50,000 pounds (27,200kg) of ordinance, and probably has much longer range than any fighter. The B2 is no longer in production, but the US Air Force hasn’t “thrown away” the tooling used to make it. You can see the form for the cockpit area of the plane at the Air Force’s “Boneyard,” near the Pima Air Museum in Tucson, AZ. This is where old military aircraft go to be “saved for later.” You can see the form in the center of that picture. The rest of that album is the boneyard and the air museum.

I think we need to bring back the Airco D.H.4. Did anyone else notice that the Russian bomber that’s been freaking people out by entering our comfort bubble has propellers? It’s max speed is probably around 400 mph. A P-51D could shoot that bird down.

Well, that was in 1989 that he said that… He was wrong… The B-52 is slated to be operated until around 2030… how’s that for an operational lifespan?

Is the F-22 actually replacing the F-117? The F-117 is actually badly named, since it’s just about always used for precision bombing… the F-22 is aimed more at the F-15’s job, as an air-superiority fighter.

Bah, all we really need are some Avro Arrows!

yes, because ordinance takes up far less room than bombs.

and when you drop ordinance on people, it puts everything in order,

but bombs put everything in disorder.

I think he was referring to how the F-22 is stealthier than the F-117, without looking so funky. Also the F-22 is supersonic, with the F-117 is not.

Make it as small as you want, it still weighs 50,000 pounds. Anyway, I like your version of ordinance. I need you to drop some of that on my office and garage.

If I had a billion dollars!
(Well, only a million really…)
