I was just on unicycle.com and saw this new trial unicycle made by summit. This is new. it looks pretty nice (especially the frame) Does anyone know if the axle/cranks are the same as on the new KH unis?? just wondering.
That sure is a nice looking unicycle. I’m not sure but the hub does seem similar (8-spline). I love that frame colour - is it the same colour as the KH frames? Finally, does that frame design have any disadvantages? It’s rectangular for most of it which I think looks better and it would also save some width if you’re trying to fit a 3" wide tyre on there. Is it as strong as an oval-shaped frame?
Thanks,
Andrew
I’ve just looked at both of them together and it says:
KH Hub - 6061 aluminum alloy, 36-hole, anodized black with chromoly steel 8-spline heat-treated axle
Summit Hub - 6061 aluminum alloy, 36-hole, anodized black with chromoly steel 8-spline heat-treated axle
KH Cranks - 140-mm hollow tubular chromoly steel with 9/16-inch pedal threads, black
Summit Cranks - 140-mm hollow tubular chromoly steel with 9/16-inch pedal threads, black
So there you go. The frame colour is different though. The KH is a little darker which I like better. They both seem like really good value. They’re quite cheap compared to others for something with a splined hub.
