Raccoon Mountain Unicycle Epic

A short video (and photo montage) from a recent 19 mile ride around the Raccoon Mountain trail system near Chattanooga, Tennessee. Thanks to Hitarock who took all the video/stills (raw footage). Enjoy, I know I had a lot of fun putting together my first video! I apologize for the low quality, I’ll post a better version a.s.a.p. (I’m a noob at this stuff, consider this a preview he he)

nice…

Looks like a great trail system!
What size wheel is that, 26"?

Great job on your first video

nice one munisano! Although i think your next vid has to have more of you riding in high gear. (My hub gets back from a swiss vacation soon so i will hopefully post a vid soon with some high gear action)

Nice riding! That looks like a fun little trail you have there.

I guess the high gear riding could be more difficult to capture for any length of time.

Maybe with a Terry style cable cam setup it would work.

Yeah, I need to get a video with me riding in high-gear; a bit more “staged.” All the video and picts you saw were not pre planned, they just happened. Hitarock took quite a bit of video just following me as I rode. That particular trail system is pretty awesome and more and more is being added to it in the future. Unfortunately there are very few sections that are very conducive for high-gear riding, you are either going up or down and there are quite a bit of rocks and roots. Plus I’m still a real noob at shifting! I really need to ride everyday but I’m lucky to ride once a week these days! :frowning:

BTW, that photo of the white sign at the beginning didn’t turn out too well but it was a huge legal disclaimer warning riders to enter at your own risk that obstacles and jumps have been constructed that could cause serious injury or death! We went right in anyhow! That was were a lot of the fun riding was to be had!

I wish I had some better, true XC trails around my area to practice more high-gear riding. I mainly use the high-gear to cover the road sections between trails or to get to a trail-head (probably not very interesting video).

nice vid Rob. I wish more of us had made it out to ride. Maybe next time. being to tech for high gear sounds fun to me, but I don’t have a high gear so… .

looks like fun
