Coker skatepark video - rough cut of intro

I have a very rough cut of the intro of the skatepark video I’m putting together that I am willing to post to the forum, but unfortunately the Gallery posting function isn’t working for me. If someone on the forum who already has a gallery (that is working) would be willing to post my video in their gallery temporarily, then anyone who is interested can see some of my footage and I would be most appreciative. The clip is 1 minute 37 seconds and is a totally rough cut… but it has some music and shows me hitting the ramp a couple of times and a couple other little things you may enjoy (including a brief scene of me riding the geared giraffe… when it was set to the smaller 30.5" wheel size equivalent gearing, not the current 37.5" equivalent wheel size gearing). My friend who is teaching me the editing barely remembers how to do it himself, so until he gets back up to speed… and I have more time to learn further, I know my editing leaves much to be desired… but I think you may enjoy the clip, nonetheless. Anyway, if anyone is willing to help out… you would have to have an email account (or possibly an IM) that can receive a 13.4 MB file. I have lots more footage to edit… so this is just a small sample of what’s to come. Thanks. Hope to hear from someone…

I can do it. Post or PM me your screen name.

That would be great! My email and MSN messenger screen name is: flightrisk@excite.com

I don’t have/use msn. Do you use aim?

I only have MSN and Yahoo… I assume your email account can’t handle a file that big.

My email account can only handle up to 10MB

I am downloading AIM right now.

If you still need some way to get it posted online, I can host it–my Yahoo account can take up to 20MB attachments as a way to get it to me: matthewwegnerx [at] yahoo . com

Thanks a lot, matthew… I really appreciate your offer, but I am currently transferring the file to daino149 (who was the first person to graciously offer to help me out) over AIM. It should be online tonight. I hope you like it…

Rough cut of skatepark video now online!

Daniel (daino149) was kind enough to post my video in the gallery, so it is now online (thanks again, Daniel)! Keeping in mind that this is an extremely rough cut (and my first attempt at editing)… any feedback would be most appreciated. This is just a very small sample… I have a lot more footage (including more aggressively banked turns and geared giraffe riding) to include, so this is just a little something to give you a small taste of what’s to come. Hope you enjoy it…

Thanks a lot! I will definitely keep you updated on my vids… I have some really cool things in the works, including a totally insane location where I’ll be riding and shooting some video in January, but I’m going to keep the location under wraps until I get over there (so don’t let the cat out of the bag, Brian Mac… cause you’re the only person I told!).

HCR, that’s some really cool Cokering. Now I can appreciate those
banked turns. Keep up the good work.

Really nice riding!

Thanks a lot, Klaas… can’t wait to post some more video. I will bet getting an Airfoil wheelset soon and then I’ll be able to post some real exciting stuff that I have planned (if I can pull it off)!

“Really nice riding!”

Thanks a lot Andrew… I look forward to your opinion on my upcoming video. I have some really cool stuff in the works. I’ll be posting the final product to the forum, but in the meantime I figured I’ll post a few rough cuts to give you guys (and gals) an idea of what I’m doing and to get some feedback.

On another note… I attended a NYUC meeting this afternoon and D5 was gracious enough to let me pound his beautiful, stockton-wheel equipped (Hunter frame, 170 cranks) 36"er up some stairs a few times. Boy can that wheel take a beating!!! I was a bit concerned… but D5 seemed to really enjoy watching me go up the stairs and he encouraged me to do it repeatedly! He wants to get some video of that so I can see it, so I’ll try to post that footage as well. Brian MacKenzie previously rode up those stairs on his Coker (on his most recent visit to NYC), but according to D5, our technique varies a bit. I mastered the side mount on my Coker. I tried the kick-up mount a few times today with no success, but came really close and should be able to do that mount real soon. I can now circle the Coker tighter and tighter into a 360 degree spin somewhat consistently.

might i ask im not farmiliar with a corker?

(D5 - that’s me, in NYUC-speak. We have so many Davids in the club that we had to assign David-numbers.)

You should see him go up the stairs!

Oh. My. God.

It’s one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen.

The cranks are actually 175s, inspired by our other massively extreme Coker rider – Brian.

Hey, HCR… check your email (again).
