'06 KHs

Here are the 2 layers:

Its also thiner and tilted back further, Good for seat out trials.

You have your seat pretty damn low…

Thats my brother’s uni, he is 11. This is mine: http://www.unicyclist.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=10123&d=1128638972

thats better

I’m 32 and my seats that low…but I’m also 5’7"

Zod, maybe its that low on a 24" but are you sure it is that low on a 20"? I’m also 5’ 7" and I know it shouldnt be that low on a trials uni.

woah, that looks sweet!

is that newer tilted seat available on UDC?

Oops, didn’t realize that was a 20"…yeah I don’t run a 20 that low

so uh, is there gonna be an 06 KH frame? I’m still tryin to rub enough coins together for an 05 KH20… is there anything I should know about them, has anyone actually bent or broken this crank and hubset yet?

Good point. One of the best things about primarily selling online is that there is a lot more flexibility with changing things more quickly than just annually. In 2005 these somewhat subtle changes happened on the 2005 unis, from January to late September shipments:
-thickness of the crank tubing increased from 1.6 to 1.8mm (next shipment to unicycle.com arriving late fall)
-same weight but stronger seatpost clamp (changed late Sept)
-foam thickness reduced on rear of saddles by 10mm, plus dual density foam.
-increased saddle strength (early 2005)
-seatpost strength was improved, with double tubing thickness in the top 4"
-slightly rougher surface on the KH bike-type seatpost (for the KH24 and KH29) (upcoming late Fall shipment) to help it grip better in the seatpost tube.

So there will be improvements ongoing in 2006 but rather than have a “2006 unicycle” I would rather implement upgrades as soon as they are developed and properly tested.

What about the rims?? I broke the rim on a funny jump due to that stupid groove!!! What is it even used for??? I hope that gets changed…

I believe the groove is already gone, and has been for some time.

I believe the groove was there to make the brakes squeak when the pads have worn thin, so that you know and can replace them. I’m pretty sure that is what Kris said in an earlier thread.

The groove is common on bike rims to show the level of sidewall wear due to brakes. I did not ask for it but the manufacturer put it in anyway. If you have a rim that broke along the groove, you can return it for warranty replacement.

All rims sold after April 2005 had no groove. Also the material was upgraded from 7005 T6 aluminum to stronger 7005H T6.

Are you ever going to get rid of the rail adaptor? The reason I haven’t gotten the freeride yet is because it looks annoying for seat out hops.

Buy the normal seat post for $18, I highly doubt he will be removing it as many people seem to like it for what it is.

I don’t have it on the KH20 for this reason, but it’s incredibly worth it on the Munis where you sit down for longer periods, because angle adjustibility makes such a difference for comfort.

Is there any visual way of telling if one has the 1.8mm cranks instead of the 1.6mm? cheers

Yes, If you havent bent them yet then either your not riding hard enough or you have the thicker walled cranks :stuck_out_tongue: chances are that the first situation applies here, and your not putting your uni through enough stresses for it to matter
