On trails, I simulate a flat/downhill surface to mount from by starting slightly off the trail on the uphill side.
edit: Back on topic, I got my book on Monday, and am really enjoying it.

Kris, thank you for releasing this book! I've been reading it since Tuesday evening, and the pics are actually helpful. Thank you for discussing Gunis with disc brakes in particular, I am intending to order that in a KH36 from Bronson Silva when the new models are released.
I'm a beginner at this, but look forward to mastering it! Kimmie, proud to barely be able to get up on the 24" trainer and pedal it up to 10 steps while touching/holding a rail. I will get better!

Finally received my copy! Bought it from municycle.com, had it delivered to Austria and my familiy sent it to my current stay in Switzerland. Direct shipping to Switzerland would have been 30€, that's really too much for a 20€-book...
Just skimmed through the pages and the photos are amazing! Can't wait to read it. |

Just finished the book, read it all in one day! Such an incredible book for all skill levels. I'm mostly Muni so I found the Muni section incredibly helpful (although some pictures even drawn ones to illustrate certain movements like leaning and stuff would have been appreciated) but I was surprised at how helpful the Trials section was. It totally made me rethink how to hop and drop which I was never too good at. I also really appreciated the ethics and safety sections, two sections that are incredbily important but often overlooked. I really want to go out and try some of the new techniques I've learned but its 1am so that isn't happening
Great book though, thanks Kris.

Hi Kris,
I like to do trials riding because I can't do any Muni because of where I live. Would your book help me with my trials or is it mainly for Muni? thanks |

It will help you with trials as well. An entire chapter is dedicated to trials riding, and aspects of the muni chapter are also pretty applicable to trials riding under some conditions (the reverse being true as well). If you get the book, it would be great to hear your feedback on this thread.

Hi Kris
I bought your book ober unycycling.com/de and I like it very much It is a really good mix of great Photos Stories and tipps. It is fine just to look at the pictuers and dream of MUNI adventures as well as to get really useful hints.

Hi Kris,
I have had a copy of your book for a while now but only just found the time to finish it and i think you named it wrong, it should be the mountain and trials unicycling BIBLE. Lots of useful info in there that will change my whole riding experience and help me progress, thank you so much. I'll be reading it again from cover to cover and using the photos as inspiration, it won't leave my side.

I read the book and am re-reading it.
For someone just getting into jumping it's been very helpful. I was having trouble getting over large curbs until I read about how to lean into the jump. I've also been practicing stillstands and balance lines, which has helped every other uni skill of mine. It has been well worth the price. Thanks.

Kris, any chance of you releasing the book on Kindle?
I have used my Kindle and Tablet constantly for a couple of years now and am trying to avoid bringing more dead trees into the house

nothing against the trees (hug them every MUni outing) but the thick paper and large photos make this book worth the purchase for a coffee table conversation piece. That being said, I'd buy a digital copy as well if/when it comes to market.

Thanks for the interest!
Stay tuned for an announcement around mid-April. In addition to print, the book will be available very soon in both .mobi and .epub formats. Kris |
