29" uni build guidance/game
Anyone wanna play a game here....
That I do intend on taking as advice, but I also figure it could be amusing.... The idea is this, piece together a 29" unicycle how you'd want to ride it. We can make it interesting and say you have to do it for under $300! (or not) Maybe this isn't entertaining at all...in which case you can ignore that game part and simply guide me, i've never built a custom uni. |

I built a KH 29 muni with brakes for just about $300, I love my 29! most parts were used, or I had some already, and I did the wheel build and assembly myself. It was a good experience to do it.

It's mostly for fun, no long distance rides, at least not too long. I'm thinking just around the local city at night for some extra exercise. I have a budget of cheap. Ideally not over $300. I also should mention I have 150mm KH moments already.

Yeah, I've been defaulting to that. I guess I'd rather buy a cheaper one used since I've never ridden one yet. At the same time, I don't want to buy the learner one because I did that with my first 20" and very soon after found myself shopping for KH 20"s..

I have a Nimbus 29" Nomad and love it. I got mine with the off road tyre through UCD but find it hard to ride on the street as its hard to turn. I like the look of an off road tyre so a friend told me to the switch out the Wtb stout for the Wtb Raptor.I got it ordered. Ill let you know what I think l8r.
Sorry got side tracked. The Nimbus is a nice ride and real strong too.LOVE the 29" its great and goes at a comfortable speed. $310.00 is right in your budget plus they ship anything $300.00 and up free

I was actually going to mention that I prefer the look of the offroad tire as well. Also in case you wanna hit some gravel paths or something.

I ride around city streets and in and out of pedestrians all the time on my 29er with the stout tire. Turning sharp is just something you have to learn how to do on a bigger wheel, after a while I could maneuver better on my 29 than smaller wheels, because it allowed me to do sharper lean-turns.

No, we'd prefer you play your unicycling game in the unicycling forum and leave Just Conversation just for conversation... y'dig?

Just Conversation: "Get to know other unicyclists from around the world!" That being said, this thread made it a number of replies before you stepped on in pretending anyone gives a damn that you didn't enjoy my thread. How do you meet friends? I usually talk to people about things we have common, now, I don't know these guys very well as y'know, i'm trying to meet them from around the world. I do, however, know these guys like unicycling based on the place that I am conversing with them. At any rate, go flame somewhere else because this thread was going fine before you took the time out of your exciting life to come try and derail my successful thread. I mean, I'm sure others can can come in an agree with you, but I don't see much of a leg to stand on with broadness of "Just Conversation." Thank you for your input though, I will be sure to remember this forum contains folks with nothing better to do than harass others who are just trying to talk about unicycling. Also- Thanks for the original replies guys, much appreciated and I'm leaning towards Nimbus, but am going to see if any good deals pop up first. Enjoy.

For someone who's been around these forums for as long as you have, it seems you haven't been very observant...

Hey, if that's your schtick, fair enough. I missed the memo, now if ya don't mind, I'll finish this thread up and next time I post I'll be sure to think of your feelings first.

Next time someone posts a unicycling thread in JC, I'm going to just say, "In b4 maestro starts bitching."
But yeah, unicycle threads should go in the unicycle forum. |

Last I checked this was unicycist.co and oh, it had a forum.
That being said- see my above post which completely justified my post here. I honestly just cannot believe none of you have anything better to do than keep breaking balls about a completely legitimate post. |
