Unicyclists in or around Nashua, NH
I'm looking for others to ride with or suggestions of where to ride. It's awfully hilly around here (tough on a 36er) and not many sidewalks or bike paths along the side of the road.

Wish I were further along (2 weeks in!). My goal is to trail ride a 36er, and there must be some incredible rides here in gorgeous New England!

I don't know if it is clear yet, but the Nashua River Rail Trail would make a nice 36er ride.

I've looked at some of the local rail trails while driving around (I'm anxious to get on them again soon), but it looks like they're still snow covered in quite a few spots.
I road the Nashua Rail Trail, a section at at time a few years ago. It's a great ride, 11 miles long and mostly flat. < http://www.mass.gov/dcr/parks/northeast/nash.htm > I've also ridden the 3.2 miles paved part of the Windham Rail Trail in Windham, NH. Last year, I did some rides on the 1.3 mile paved part of the Piscataquog Trail, Manchester, NH. I have to go back this year and do the "walkway over the Merrimack River" that crosses right near the baseball Stadium. I haven't ridden the unicycle there, but I used to walk all the trails in Mines Falls Park right in Nashua when I worked on Whipple Street. There used to be a uni rider that rode there regularly but I never met him. Let me know if you want any more details on any of these rides. Bruce - Grampy1Wheel Weare, NH |

I work in the Nashua area, and there is an interesting path near adjacent to the bridge that crosses the river into Hudson on Exit 2, not sure what it is
![]() I would be up for getting together for rides.

I have since been to Mine Falls Park in Nashua numerous times with my 24" muni and my 36er. I love it there. Some of you probably wouldn't consider it true muni since it's mostly level, hard-packed dirt. There are some side trails with tree roots that are more challenging though.
I have also been on the Nashua River Rail Trail with my 36er. This gets old pretty quickly since it's perfectly flat and mostly straight. The only thing that makes it worthwhile are the comments from passerby's. I would appreciate any other suggestions for muni trails and places where a 36er would be fun to ride (and attract lots of attention) in the Nashua/Manchester/Northern MA area. |
