Yup, that's Josh from unicycle.com on their latest prototype. He was riding it at Vancouver MUni Weekend. It's a Large Marge rim with a Surly Larry 3.7" tire, and the Nimbus disc brake system.

I heard that UDC has one in the works, I believe it's to be a muni, even has a code name. But, I can't tell ya cuz I'd have to kill ya, and we all know how that'd work out

Word on the street is 2011, hub and frame

Kinda pricey and time intensive though, to invest in a new frame, hub, rotor, caliper, then rebuild the wheel, all for a disc brake.

I have rim brakes on four unis, can't say I have any complaints, only had one leak in two years, did it myself when I UPD'd in a rock pile.

The only place I can see wanting one is for muni cuz the rim brake pads do tend rub as the rim moves side to side, but it's no game ender.

Sure is purty, nice frame, color coordianted cranks, hmmm.

Josh always uses color, and attention to detail in his custom rides. He let me ride that one for a mile or so on the Sunday MUni Weekend trail in Vancouver. Sweet! It eats up the terrain. But for me, who likes to roll and doesn't hop much, it had too much air in it. With lower pressure it could probably cruise right over small logs and baby head rocks! Me like.

Does that mean there's a Nimbus steel-axled disc-compatible hub, or are you risking the aluminium-axled one like on the 36er?

(you've got the disc on backwards, by the way. The spokes should curve the other way - it's to hold the rim of the disc taught under braking to stop it crumpling, although probably less important on a unicycle where we're not going to brake as hard as a bike)

Edit: Bizarre - the pic shows up on my phone just fine, in both your post and mine.
Edit2: My work blocks facebook, prob why no pic for me. PITA.

Nurse Ben seems to have some inside info indicating the new one from Nimbus for muni will be steel: http://www.unicyclist.com/forums/sho...t=86763&page=2
